Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Accounting, or equivalent practical experience.

  • 3 years of experience in a financial reporting/operational accounting role.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Spreadsheet Software, and SQL.

  • Knowledge of accounting principles.

  • Understanding of accounting principles, including India GAAP, United States GAAP, and IFRS standards.

  • Ability to handle a varied and diverse workload, while ensuring accuracy, timeliness and a high degree of attention to detail and a commitment to continuous process improvement.

  • Ability to work in a cross-functional, fast-paced environment and to lead, drive complex operational initiatives, and job stability with increasing levels of responsibility.

  • Ability to drive results, show leadership, with excellent negotiating, people management, communication, and problem solving skills.

Google accountants are a savvy bunch who handle the core accounting responsibilities at Google. You know your accounting principles and the full accounting process end to end. You'll advise on financial reports required by governmental regulations, and review, analyze, and interpret financial and budgetary reports. As an Accountant, you will partner closely with a number of cross-functional and cross-finance stakeholders. You will drive cross-finance collaboration to support both finance as well as business-led initiatives, but also those who can implement and continually look to improve existing processes.

From developing forward-thinking analysis to generating management reports to scaling our automated financial processes, the Finance organization is an important partner and advisor to the business.

  • Ensure compliance with relevant Indian accounting standards, regulatory requirements and tax regulations, including management of the external audit and tax compliance for a portfolio of Google entities in India.

  • Perform regular in-depth analysis on the financials, ensuring the integrity and financial accuracy of local books and records.

  • Represent Accounting and Finance with our business partners through effective communication with in-country business managers, Technical Accounting, Tax, Treasury, Legal, Regulatory Compliance, Internal Audit, and Financial Planning.

  • Develop in-depth knowledge of tools and applications in support of the accounting function and highlight opportunities for improvement, managing projects that will yield efficiency through automation and optimization.

  • Prepare and present financial information to different audiences, including finance leaders, business partners, auditors and regional accountants. Articulate risks of your area to management. Maintain an effective internal control environment.
