Position Summary Information
General Summary
TheConstructionProject Coordinatorcoordinates the performance and activities of multi-disciplinary contractors/employees performing large repairs/capital maintenance/remodeling projects; performs facility condition assessment and technical contract compliance inspections.
Essential Functions
Performs customer interviews, and evaluate facility structures, to determine the scope of work
Assists Project Manager in developing project specifications
Develops project work plans
Develops cost estimates utilizing accepted industry standards or historical costs
Conducts field meetings with contractor and in-house staff to determine the Time & Material requirements of a job
Assists in negotiating project scope/cost with contractors
Acts as the central point of contact for our customers for all projects assigned involving multi-discipline groups
Performs technical compliance inspections to ensure work is performed in accordance with approved plans and specifications, and workmanship/product is consistent with approved industry practices and codes
Assists Section Manager in performing contract management related administrative duties including but not limited to, preparing project/task documents, providing technical support for pre-bid meetings and site visits, reviewing submittals, negotiating project resources and methodology, and documenting goods and services received
Prepares and monitors project schedules using project management software or other equivalent methods
Completes periodic reports detailing the status of the project(s)
Performs various facility condition assessments and field surveys
Drives a vehicle to conduct WSSC Water business

Required Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
Working knowledge of the principles and practices of project management
Good organizational and document management skills
Ability to develop a project management plan encompassing schedule, project costs, resources, contractual commitment
Ability to effectively work with others
Good knowledge of proper materials, equipment, methods, technical procedures, and practices of facility construction and maintenance activities
Comprehensive knowledge of estimating minor construction/maintenance projects using industry recognized estimated methods
General knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC , roofing and life safety systems, concrete, masonry and paving
Good verbal and written communication skills
Minimum Education, Experience Requirements
High School diploma (or equivalent)
5+ years experience at a foreman-levelin any of the following construction services area: carpentry, painting, flooring, masonry, roofing, paving that includes construction work on a variety of projects
1+ years experience in construction/maintenance estimating
Additional Requirements
Possession of a valid driver’s license with no more than 4 points and the ability to obtain and maintain a WSSC Water driver’s permit within 90 days of hire or transfer
Completion of the WSSC Water Financial Disclosure statement within 30 days of employment and annually thereafter

Additional experience is helpful.
Salary$33.30 - $56.60 per hour
