Summary

The primary purpose of this position is to support the Feedmill in all aspects to include operations, administration and all other support functions associated with feed manufacturing. The incumbent will be proficient in operation, receiving, panel, dispatch, feed scheduling and the food safety plan. Work hours will be 7:00am-3:00p.m while in training, these hours may need to be adjusted after training is complete.

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Able to serve in any position within the feed mill to provide support as needed and train new associates in receiving, panel, dispatch, feed scheduling and feed quality.

  2. Assist the Feed Mill Manager to ensure feed mill conforms to FDA, USDA, AMS, and Perdue requirements including CGMPs, BMPs, PVPs and the principles of animal food hygiene and animal food safety.

  3. Perform Daily inventory on soft stock ingredients and Grains.

  4. Perform housekeeping in designated assigned areas.

  5. Perform production related functions and support facility safety requirements and functions.

  6. Must wear all required PPE as defined by the positions in the mill and abide by all safety policies.

Minimum Education

High School Diploma or GED

Experience Requirements

Worked a minimum of 6 months of consecutive work history with one employer in the past 3 years. Two or more years of feed mill manufacturing. Proficient in Microsoft Office to include Excel, Word and Outlook. Ability to perform basic math functions to create accurate reports and maintain inventory levels.

Experience Preferred

Experience in maintenance and mechanical functions.

Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements

  1. Position is exposed to environmental temperatures to include extreme cold, heat and humidity.

  2. Position works in a dusty and odorous environment associated with feed mill manufacturing.

  3. Must be able to navigate uneven terrain.

  4. Must be able to climb steps and ladders.

  5. Must be able to lift and carry 50lbs.

  6. Must wear all personal protective equipment as required by safety programs.
