Job Description:

Support senior Test Engineers (coordination of test plan implementation and follow ET30 procedures) for structural testing

Scope of work will include test planning, scheduling, procurement, procedural preparations, test conduct, and fixture fabrication.

Interact with drawings of facilities, test hardware, customer hardware, and instrumentation requirements.

Write instructions for technician operations, including application of safety procedures.

Job Duties will include:

Coordination with NASA project level customers across organizations to ensure mission success.

Work with a diverse team of civil servants and contractors to design, develop, setup, and perform structural testing on space flight qualification hardware, and other mission critical hardware.

Participate in a Beyond Zero Safety Culture, attend safety meetings, task meetings, design reviews, and test readiness reviews as requested to support ESSCA and customer requirements.

Develop and deliver reports and presentations as requested to support ESSCA and customer requirements via Power Point and other various software packages.

Perform safety and certification training to support ESSCA and customer requirements.

Familiarity with OSHA standards.

Job Requirements:

A degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering (or related field) is required. A degree from an ABET accredited institution is preferred.

The ideal candidate will be an Engineer with a strong sampling of the following skills and a desire to learn:

Desire to conduct detailed hands-on work in a Lab testing environment on sub scale models to full scale structures in some of NASA's largest indoor and outdoor test facilities.

Load Control systems.

Instrumentation systems, with emphasis on strain, displacement, and force measurement.

Facility and space hardware operations.

High pressure gas and hydraulic systems

Operations in the presence of Cryogenic Liquids and Explosives
