BAE Systems Senior Systems Engineer in Huntsville, Alabama

Job Description

Ready to make a difference? BAE Systems is looking for Systems Engineers to work as part of a cross-functional, multi-disciplinary team to design, integrate, debug, and test next generation EW systems. We are looking for highly motivated, self-directed individuals to focused on delivering innovative Electronic Warfare (EW) Electro-optic/Infrared (EO/IR) Systems. Individual technical contributions on a related range of Programs will include system planning, Model-Based Systems engineering (MBSE), requirements analysis and decomposition, integration & test planning and execution.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Working on a team of Systems Engineers responsible for developing EO/IR related systems and components

  • Systems requirements development and allocation using IBM Rational DOORS

  • Updating work products such as interface and system specifications

  • Supporting Systems Engineering trade studies and technical presentations for design reviews and Technical Interchange Meetings.

  • Working on a team responsible for creating and updating test procedures used in system verification.

  • Making recommendations and implementing improvements in system engineering techniques and processes

  • Executing tests on target hardware to verify and demonstrate requirements compliance to specifications.

  • Developing and reviewing test procedures and reports.

  • Model based systems engineering (MBSE) development responsibilities for program or project.

This position will require you to be onsite in Huntsville, AL. Because of the need for consistent, in-person collaboration and due to the nature of this role, it will be performed full-time on site.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Bachelor's Degree of Science (or equivalent experience in a relevant field) with a minimum work experience of:

  • 4-6 Years with BS

  • 2-4 Years with MS

  • US Citizenship possessing an Active Secret Clearance and be eligible for Top Secret/SCI/SAP/SAR clearance.

  • Experience with System Engineering requirements development, specifically with EO/IR technologies, weapons and countermeasure systems, aircraft platforms and/or Mission Planning systems.

  • Experience with Magic Draw, Cameo and/or related MBSE products

  • Practical application of IBM Rational DOORS Requirements Management tool

  • Effective in documenting, communicating, and working individually and with a team on system level analysis and troubleshooting, testing, and consolidating technical data.

  • Experience performing systems engineering activities across the development cycle (analysis/decomposition/derivation/allocation of requirements, system design & development, system integration & test)

  • Development of test plans and procedures with traceability to requirements

  • Aptitude for testing and troubleshooting

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Experience with EW and Missile Defense Systems

  • Systems engineering or related discipline that requires analyses and problem solving

  • Experience with technical performance measurements and cost account management.

  • Familiarity or prior experience with Agile Systems Engineering

  • Python, C , and/or MATLAB software development a plus

  • Hands on experience with lab equipment set-up, configuration, troubleshooting and test execution.

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $83900 - $142600

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
