Job Posting Description

This position is in support of the Program Executive Office (PEO) Missiles and Space (M&S). The requirements are similar to that of a mid to senior action officer on a Headquarters Staff. The Candidate will perform without appreciable direction and will exercise considerable latitude in determining the approach to develop correct responses and effective solutions. The Candidate will receive, analyze, assign and track all external tasks coming into the PEO as well as internal tasking’s (Unclassified and Classified). For tasks requiring a response from the leadership, the Candidate may serve as the staff action officer: collecting data, analyzing the data, preparing responses, coordinating the response and sending the response to the tasking agency.

The Candidate will be required to interact with senior internal and external personnel on all matters requiring coordination between multiple organizations. For all task responses that require senior leadership signature:

The Candidate will review the documentation before submission for signature to ensure that the response provides the required information. The Candidate will ensure that the information is fully documented, staffed, positions are supported, and proper coordination has been accomplished. The Candidate will ensure the response(s) meets the highest quality standards and supports a positive and professional image of the PEO.

The Candidate will maintain and mange the PEO M&S Task Management System (TMS) and update the Staff Action Procedures Guide and the TMS Business Practices as required ensuring that all PEO leaders have immediate access to a repository of information to maintain awareness of requirements and the status of staff actions to satisfy those requirements. This includes Unclassified and Classified Task Management Tool (TMT) as well.

The Candidate will serve as the primary customer point of contact and expert on TMS & TMT databases. Candidate will also lead and support training of TMS & TMT databases to new employees. The ability to write at the senior level and solid understanding of the functions of the different elements of the staff are critical to success in this position.

The Candidate will support the PEO MS Strategic Initiative Group (SIG) in preparation of weekly Staff Call Chart development, White Paper Support, Congressional Report Development, Internal and external routing of paperwork to the front office; support various working group initiatives, and development of PEO senior leadership PowerPoint brief development and finalization.

Required Skills: Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering science or equivalent military experience in lieu of degree, possess a Secret Clearance and 2 to 4 years of relevant experience is required. Must have a familiarity with the PEO M&S operations and coordination with HQDA and OSD staffs. Ability to collect, analyze, and synthesize information to produce quality-briefing products and written documentations is necessary. Must have excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to use Microsoft Office suite products, especially MS Word and MS PowerPoint.
