Leidos Defense Systems is seeking a talented Modeling & Simulation Engineer to join a diverse team to create unique solutions for complex problems. With offices across the United States engaging in the defense, space, cyber and commercial fields, Leidos Defense Systems provides responsive, cost-effective engineering, scientific, IT and manufacturing solutions to our customers most technically challenging problems.

Primary Responsibilities

The Modeling & Simulation (M&S) Lead Engineer will be responsible for the development and oversight of M&S architecture and tools, ensuring alignment with the contract Statement of Work (SOW). This role involves coordinating and managing all M&S activities, including those undertaken by subcontractors, to ensure they meet defined requirements and objectives. The M&S Lead Engineer will facilitate and support meetings with the US Government customer, manage work products, and maintain clear communication with management regarding system performance. This position requires meticulous oversight of all M&S outputs to ensure they are reviewed, understood, and meet the project goals.

Basic Qualifications

Candidate must have strong leadership credentials, good organizational skills, attention to detail and work well as a key member of a team often tasked to be highly responsive and agile in order to satisfy critical warfighter needs.

The candidate must have experience in the following areas:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in Modeling & Simulation, with a focus on architecture and tool development.

  • Proven experience planning and managing M&S activities as outlined in contract SOWs.

  • Experience in coordinating and managing subcontractor M&S activities.

  • Strong understanding of M&S requirements, objectives, and deliverables

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to interface effectively with US Government customers and management.

  • Ability to review, understand, and verify M&S outputs.

  • Proficiency in relevant M&S software tools and technologies.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.

  • 10+ years of experience in Modeling & Simulation.

  • Experience with managing large-scale M&S projects and teams.

  • Familiarity with DoD M&S standards and practices.

  • Strong project management skills with experience in managing subcontract efforts.

  • Knowledge of systems engineering principles and practices.

  • Experience with advanced M&S technologies such as AI, machine learning, and data analytics.

  • Active security clearance.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $101,400.00 - $183,300.00
