Navistar, Inc. Manufacturing Operations Manager-2nd Shift in Huntsville, Alabama

Position Overview

The Manufacturing Operations Manager will be the primary resource for Huntsville Operations for establishing technical expertise on the principles of Lean Manufacturing. Position will work directly with appropriate disciplines within the facilities to provide operational effectiveness/efficiency solutions in several key areas i.e. Process Capability, Absenteeism/Workmanship, Facilities/Tooling/Materials. This position is responsible for managing the on-going operations of business teams across all functional areas of the organization. The position will provide the necessary leadership and guidance to multiple levels of the organization, including both management and hourly paid personnel. Responsible for the management and implementation of continuous improvement, First Time Quality, Roll Throughput Yield, Tooling capability, Point of Application, Training, workforce utilization, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Directs the development and implementation of activities in production area(s) to meet production goals, quality and cost objectives.

  • Prioritizes production schedules based on product introduction, equipment efficiency, and materials supply.

  • Plans and administers procedures and budgets. Makes budgetary recommendations and may control capital expenditures and direct/indirect labor.

  • Develops schedules and workforce requirements for assigned areas.

  • Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • At least 8 years of product manufacturing experience

  • At least 2 years of management experience

OR

  • Master’s degree

  • At least 6 years of product manufacturing experience

  • At least 2 years of management experience

OR

  • At least 10 years of product manufacturing experience

  • At least 2 years of management experience

Additional Requirements

  • Qualified candidates, excluding current Navistar employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States.
