ASRC Federal Holding Company GSS Senior Software Engineer in Huntsville, Alabama

ASRC Federal Agile Decision Sciences is a premier provider of systems engineering, software engineering, system integration and project management services for real-time, mission-critical defense systems.

We are seeking highly motivated Senior Software Engineers to support the development and sustainment of the U.S. Missile Defense Agency Ground-Based Midcourse Defense (GMD) anti-ballistic missile system project in Huntsville, AL. This position requires on-site work to be performed in Huntsville, AL. There are no remote work options.

The selected Software Engineer (SW Developer) will be responsible for developing and implementing scripts that drive the automated testing efforts for the Ground-based Midcourse Defense (GMD) Weapons Systems (GWS) Ground Support Systems (GSS) product team.

Essential Functions:

  • Support advanced portions of the lifecycle of software development to include requirements definition, integration, and deployment

  • Develop requirements driven software solutions

  • Resolve software issues (debugging) and support verification / test analysis

  • Prioritize and adjust tasks to accomplish project results with limited oversight and direction

  • Apply "systems thinking" to ensure developed products are scalable, maintainable, and meet end-user needs

  • Communicate openly and effectively with teammates and customer representatives

Requirements :

  • Applicants must have a current active in-scope U.S. Government DoD issued Secret security clearance which is required to start

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline preferred from an accredited university and 5 years of related experience, or a Master's Degree in a STEM discipline and 3 years of related experience

  • Experience developing software in C++ and Java

  • Experience with software development for embedded systems

  • Must be able to support an in-person / closed-area work environment

  • Ability and willingness to travel 10% to support business needs

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Software Engineering

  • Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with technical teams and customer personnel

  • Experience analyzing complex problems and developing solutions based on limited direction and definition

  • Experience developing using a Red Hat Enterprise Linux Operating System

  • Knowledge of various scripting languages and tools: Python, MATLAB, etc.

  • Familiarity with build tools: Gradle and/or CMake, etc.

  • UI Framework / JavaFX exposure

  • Git version control system exposure

  • Familiarity utilizing the Atlassian tool suite (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, Fisheye Crucible)

  • Familiarity with Software Containerization

  • Experience working on CMMI Level 3+ programs

  • Security + Certification
