University Intern Credentials, Provisional Internship, Short-Term Staff Permit may be considered

Basic Functions: Under the supervision of the school principal, the SDC Teacher provides direct instruction and support services as specified in the Individualized Education Program (IEP) for the special education pupils identified.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

Education: • Valid California Credential, authorizing service to Moderate/Severe (or Extensive Support Needs) special needs students is required; • Possession of valid, current CPR and First Aid certification is required or obtain within two months of employment; • EL authorization or equivalent is required; • Autism Spectrum Authorization; • Multiple or Single Subject credential is preferred; • Master's Degree in Education or related field is preferred;

Experience: • Two years working with severely handicapped or moderate/severe students is preferred; • Recent successful experience working with children with special needs and willingness to work with staff members and management in a collaborative manner.
