Description

This position is responsible for moving trailers in and out of specific locations using a yard goat.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • N/A

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Transport/move trailers to and from yard location.

  • Maintain accurate reports and logs.

  • Maintain a clean a safe work environment.

  • Must maintain a safe driving record.

  • Ensuring compliance with applicable DOT, Company, State, and Federal policies/laws regarding traffic, safety, hours worked, and drugs and alcohol.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent communication, time management, and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.

  • Must have excellent customer service skills, phone skills, and basic computer knowledge.

  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Job Requirements:

  • Must be able to complete a background check, including FBI criminal history, employment background, and pre-employment drug test.

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.

  • Must be a U.S. citizen or provide proof of right to work in the U.S.

  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.

  • Valid Class A CDL.

  • Driving record with no more than 6 points.

Drivers must have the ability to demonstrate the following:

  • 100-foot straight line backing

  • Driver-side back into a dock

  • Straight-back into a Dock

  • Blind-Side back into a Dock

  • Proper coupling & uncoupling of the trailer

  • Proper Boom, and 5th wheel operation

  • Proper movement of trailer tandems

Compensation:

  • The pay rate listed on this post, is what the company reasonably expects to pay for this position. However, individual compensation may vary based on factors including qualifications, skills, competencies, education, and experience.

Education & Experience:

  • A minimum of one year of experience driving large or heavy trucks and or trailers preferred.

  • Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift and move up to 50 lbs at a time.

  • Prolonged periods sitting in a trailer cab for long periods of time.
