The registered nurse has the primary responsibility and accountability for providing quality care to patients through the use of the nursing process as reflected in the Standards of Nursing Practice and in a manner that is cost-effective without compromising quality care.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Graduate from an accredited school of nursing with current licensure and registration as a Registered Nurse in the State of New York. Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of the New York State Practice Act and the American Nurses’ Association (ANA) Standards of Nursing Practice.

UNIT SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS BLS, ACLS and NALS PALS is recommended At least one (1) year medical-surgical experience Trauma Nurse Core Course within one (1) year of employment Strongly recommended to become credentialed as a Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) through the Emergency Nurse Association within one (1) year of employment, if eligible
