Position Purpose: On behalf of the City of Huber Heights, serves as a representative of Veolia working in the distribution and collection system. Primary Duties/Responsibilities: * May be responsible to repair water mains and or sanitary sewer mains. * Requires approximately 100% of time in the field. * Position has on-call responsibilities. * Must be able to respond in person to a call within no more than 30 minutes. * A variety of basic operational and maintenance tasks relevant to maintaining safe and reliable operations of water and/or wastewater collection systems ensuring operational compliance with state and federal regulations. * Routine cleaning and general housekeeping duties in work and plant areas as assigned, including but not limited to sweeping, dusting, mopping, painting * Lift Station maintenance and cleaning * May be responsible to inspect/clean sanitary sewer mains * Ability to properly collect water quality samples, test and maintain collection records * Ability to properly operate equipment such as backhoe, dump trucks, equipment, concrete saw, hydraulic shoring * Ability to use GIS/Mapping to locate valves/manholes lines etc. * Familiar with Confined Space Entry & traffic control procedures. * Other duties as assigned Work Environment: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Qualifications Education/Experience/Background: * High School diploma or equivalent. * At least 2 years of experience in the water or wastewater industry or related fields.
