General Summary:

This IT System Test engineering position requires the ability to work closely with wireless vendors on all aspects associated with the design, optimization and ongoing operation of 2G, 3G, 4G and 5G . The successful candidate should understand technical issues related to technologies and have RF & Networks optimization skills. The candidate must be able to provide onsite support with wireless test networks. Position requires significant customer interaction and ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams. Some travel required.

Responsibilities

Work with ITWS engineers to deploy and maintain multi-vendor wireless infrastructure products with various aspects including air interface, devices, and applications for internal test environments.

  • Installation, labeling, terminating and connecting cables

  • Organizing ITWS labs and maintaining inventory

  • On-call and ServiceNow tickets

  • Auditing license, firmware, and software releases

  • Daily operations priorities, and system checklist

  • Assist with RF coverage and capacity planning

  • Ability to effectively work with multi-functional engineering teams.

  • Provide project status to project managers and customers.

  • Provide solutions to meet customer requirements in a cost-effective manner without compromising quality.

Skills/Experience

Interact with wireless infrastructure vendors to deploy GSM/UMTS/LTE/TD-SCDMA/5G NR networks in various aspects ranging from core network, air interface, to devices and applications for internal test teams. Familiar with VoIP .

  • Support handset and network infrastructure based advanced tools to accurately measure existing and potential network performance

  • Work with in-house simulation platforms with live network traffic data and develop solutions to improve network performance & efficiency

  • Network troubleshooting involving the use of various data collection and post-processing tools to assess wireless network performance and propose solutions to problems

  • Network Planning, including propagation model calibration, link budget definition, network planning tool configuration, coverage and capacity planning and network growth dimensioning

  • Ability to present technical ideas and results to multi-level, multi-disciplinary internal and external audience.

  • Independent as well as good team player with the ability to effectively work with multi-functional engineering teams.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's Computer Engineering and/or Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience

10+ years of relevant engineering experience

Minimum Qualifications:

• 7+ years of IT-related work experience with a Bachelor's degree.

OR

9+ years of IT-related work experience without a Bachelor’s degree.

• 4+ years in a leadership role in projects/programs.
