Field Ironworker: Must be able to Weld

Vital Link, Inc. (VLI) is currently hiring Journeyman and entry level positions in our Field Department. Positions require full time travel in the US and possibly overseas. VLI seeks personnel who can work effectively in a small Contract Field Team, supporting repair, maintenance and installation of USAF Noise Suppressors (Engine Test Cells and Hush Houses). Positions are available in the following disciplines: Electrician, Iron-worker, Sheet metal Worker, Welder (Structural), Carpenter/Millwright, Painter and Laborer (entry level). General knowledge of industrial construction is required. Experience with steel erection and refurbishment is preferred. Must have the ability to read blueprints. For Journeyman consideration a minimum of five (5) years' experience is required.

Typical VLI field projects involve several trades - structural ironwork, sheet metal work, welding, mechanical / millwright installation and maintenance, electrical, equipment operation (forklift), rigging and hoisting, corrosion control and painting. No employee is expected to support all trades, but the successful applicant and employee can typically support more than one trade depending on the needs of the team.

Travel expenses are reimbursed and per diem paid. Employees must have reliable transportation for travel within the Continental U.S. Must pass a background check for access to US military and other customer installations.

VLI's work in the U.S. is governed by the Service Contract Act for payment of prevailing wages and benefits. Competitive wages and benefits are offered including holiday, vacation and fringes.
