Our greatest asset has been, and will continue to be, our people.  We are looking for an experienced and motivated individual to fill the position of Planning Analyst in our US Onshore Resources & Carbon Management (ORCM), Midland Basin Business Unit based in Houston, Texas.

 

Essential Job Duties:

  • Accountable for assisting in the creation of annual and long-term business plans
  • Coordinate the monthly production outlook update with asset teams and present to Business Unit Management
  • Provide financial support as needed to assist in the preparation of monthly management reports and outlooks
  • Assist in the preparation and/or review of capital project requests for the corporate Authorization for Expenditure (AFE) system, as well as individual project expenditure requests; collaborate with technical staff on the economic evaluation and justification for the projects
  • Assist with special projects, including scenario evaluations to understand capital and production impacts, project economic and financial evaluations, presentations for Business Unit Management, and cross-functional project support
  • Provide assistance and guidance relative to business unit compliance with Corporate AFE policy and procedures
  • Prepare quarterly and annual evaluations such as inventory & portfolio updates and capital reconciliations, SMOG, and impairment

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in business/economics, engineering/science or related discipline; CPA, MBA or related advanced degree is a plus
  • Minimum of 3 years of accounting, economic evaluation, engineering or operational analysis experience
  • Experience in economic and financial modeling, in oil and gas economics and planning software, such as PEEP or Enersight, and with financial reporting
  • Strong data management and/or programming language skills
  • Strong analytical, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Must be adaptable and self-motivated with a strong work ethic and demonstrate a willingness to work overtime as necessary to meet deadlines
  • Ability to interact effectively with team members, business unit/functional leadership, and other personnel at various levels of responsibility and to handle a variety of roles within a multidisciplinary team
  • Capable of handling multiple assignments, setting tactical priorities and delivering results under time constraints and at times with limited data
