Responsibilities

JOB SCOPE:

Under direct supervision, applies theories and principles of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis to create, test, and evaluate software applications and systems. Implements, tests, and debugs software to conform to requirements and design. Creates flowcharts, diagrams, and other documentation to convey an engineered solution to other developers and engineers. Makes suggestions for problem solutions or software enhancements. May assist in development of user manuals. Works with technical staff to learn and understand problems with software.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and maintain software for use in the upstream oil and gas industry.

  • Perform design, code, and test of software based upon requirements.

  • Support the creation of documentation and training material.

  • Understand and comply with all safety rules and company policies.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Must be currently enrolled in a Computer Science or other engineering degree program in an accredited 4-year college or university, and graduating with a degree in one of above programs in less than 2 years.

  • Familiar with C/C++ or Fortran.

  • Familiar with Optimization methods.

  • Strong communication skills. An eagerness to learn.

  • Ability to take direction and work well with others.

Preferred:

  • Some working experience in software development, including complex school projects.

  • Familiar with Linear Programming and Non-Linear Programming
