Responsibilities

The Project Manager provides leadership throughout all phases of a capital project and is responsible for maximizing the project value by executing the project within budget, on schedule and ensuring that the required operability is achieved. The Project Manager is responsible for planning and executing studies and capital projects to meet specified project objectives. Interaction with operations, technology, business, and other corporate support organizations as well as senior management is a key component of the job requirements.

  • Manages the project planning, resourcing, cost control, schedule, and functionality to deliver the investment in accordance with the business objectives and customer requirements

  • Coordinate the development and maintenance of project plans and associated documents

  • Regularly evaluates & mitigates issues that create project risk to meeting project objectives. Proactively anticipate those issues and develops mitigation plans in advance.

  • Closely tracks and communicates project progress to stakeholders

  • Develops scope of 3rd party process units and arranges technical support as required in construction and start up

  • Ensure involvement of appropriate personnel in the development and implementation of capital projects from Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Operations, and Maintenance (EPCOM)

  • Interface with engineering and construction contractors

  • Uses of strict change management protocol to manage scope & schedule impacts

  • Work with Project Controls personnel to monitor, report, and document the progress of work and provide feedback on budget and schedule deviations

  • Provide direction to Project Team on schedule and cost related issues

  • Serve on and lead teams associated with work process improvement and project related issues

  • Consider safety, cost and schedule in overall project plan to ensure objectives are met at best overall value

Qualifications

  • 15+ years’ of Project Management experience on >$100M capital projects in an Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) process or appropriate comparable arrangement. 

  • B.S. degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical or Chemical

  • Candidate should have an intimate understanding of capital processes, from project definition through plant start-up.  

  • Candidate must have outstanding communication and coordination skills and demonstrated team leadership skills.   

  • Ability to manage multiple and changing priorities in a fast-paced environment

  • Must demonstrate a commitment to safety and dedication to implementing safe capital facilities.

  • Must be able to travel as needed based on project needs

  • Open to relocation to the investment site as project demands ramp up
