Job Overview:

The Senior Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for mechanical engineering design, analysis and development of rotating equipment and packages for the project.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Lead Mechanical Engineer and design/engineering of Rotating Equipment and Packages

  • Carry out specific project tasks and responsibilities as required

  • Conduct all activities in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with the McDermott's policies and procedures. Ensuring the welfare of personnel and the protection of assets and the environment at all times

  • Undertake Pre-FEED and FEED studies as per Project requirements

  • Provide technical clarifications to any comments raised by other departments, clients, classification society, etc. throughout the project engineering phase

  • Coordinate the bid review with the other engineering disciplines involved

  • Liaise with Vendor for any pending technical issues to be solved during project execution in order to ensure that package is technically compliant with engineering expectations in coordination with the Client

  • Provide technical expertise in case of package/equipment upgrades or repairs as required by relevant department

  • Monitor Mechanical discipline performance and develop discipline business improvement plans and carry out specific project tasks and responsibilities as required

  • Highlight risk associated with the critical interfaces and equipment and develop mitigation plans accordingly

  • Provide day to day support to a wide number of internal clients

Essential Qualifications and Education:

  • B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or ABET Approved Curriculum

  • Minimum 10 years of experience, predominantly engineering experience, with detailed knowledge of codes/standards, applicable software's

  • Must be proficient in Microsoft office.

  • Strong FEED Experience, Offshore, Rotating major, with experience in handling Static/packages

  • Lead position experience in large projects managing minimum of 5 Mechanical Engineers in team

  • EPC experience is preferred

Preferred Qualifications and Education:

  • Master Degree in Mechanical Engineering

  • Experience as an Area, Team or Project Lead

  • Experience with Rotating Equipment (Compressor, Pump, etc) and Packages is required

  • Customer focused, dedicated to meeting the expectations and requirements of internal and external customers

  • Relates well to all levels and kinds of people; able to build appropriate rapport; listens well

  • Self-starter; results driven; anticipates/initiates and implements solutions

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
