Job Overview:

The Senior Manager of Materials Management is tasked with developing departmental plans, including business, production, and organizational priorities. The role requires multi-disciplinary expertise and the ability to understand the industry to achieve financial and operational objectives. They manage multiple related teams, set organizational priorities, and allocate the appropriate resources. They must identify and resolve complex technical, operational, and organizational problems. The Senior Manager Materials Management directly impacts business results by supporting and function-specific projects, products, services, and technologies and developing policies and plans.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Lead the project’s or area’s materials management effort

  • Develop a material management strategy for tracking and documenting project materials

  • Interface with Engineering and Procurement, Expediting and Logistics to obtain a holistic approach for the material management methods and structures

  • Lead the MM staff on the project (including project leaders)

  • Oversee planning and optimization of project space and tracking methodology

  • Provide input on budgeting, staffing process, and resource management

  • Input data into resource management

  • Convey systems and process knowledge

  • Oversee project setup and MOPEX

  • Undertake annual performance review of assigned resources to the project

  • Support estimating associated with the bidding process

  • Ensure compliance with QHSES procedures and Champion, the Materials Management Vision, and Goals for the company

  • Develop Work Processes, Policies, and Procedures for the function

  • Preparation and review of the project-specific Materials Management Plan

  • Assist with the preparation of the Materials Management budget for projects by estimating and planning Materials Management Functions of proposals and bids

  • Assist in determining Materials Management Personnel needs for projects

  • Interview and hire Materials Management Personnel as required for projects within the office

  • Provide functional supervision and technical guidance to the team of Materials Management professionals

  • Establish project materials reporting tools

  • Monitor project for compliance by performing internal auditing for the Materials Management function

  • Report the status of Materials Management functions to upper management

Essential Qualifications and Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related discipline is preferred

  • Over 10 years within the Energy Industry through all phases of EPCI project delivery

  • Extensive functional, business, industry, and leadership expertise

  • Ability to work as a team member as well as act as a team leader

  • Have broad experience with technical activities, including on and offshore operations

  • Maintain key competencies associated with the Materials Management function

  • Communication and presentation skills, both written and spoken

  • Exceptional understanding of Materials Management Systems in the EPCI & Fabrication and Manufacturing Process

  • Computer literate in Microsoft programs: Word, Access, PowerPoint, Excel, and Project
