WM Senior Director, HR Technology in Houston, Texas

I. Job Summary

The Senior Director, HR Technology is accountable for developing and executing a comprehensive HR Technology strategy that supports the organization’s goals and priorities to serve the business and leads a global team in US, Canada and India of functional and technical professionals who manage our commitments and delivery of business objectives. This key team member delivers valuable expertise and deep knowledge of current and anticipated HR technology capabilities within the market and the existing WM HR system footprint and provides guidance to Senior Leadership for our HR technology vision, strategy, and roadmap. Based on extensive HR program and systems experience, this leader is an expert in HR processes, practices, policies, operations, and regulations that impact HR service delivery. This experience and depth of knowledge enables the leader to collaborate with the appropriate subject matter experts with a consultative approach to deliver technology solutions. By regularly engaging with internal and external partners, this HR leader will maximize the investment in technology, create exceptional employee experiences and deliver optimal business processes that support WM now and into the future.

II. Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for understanding the business and HR’s priorities and setting the strategic direction for HR Technology. Provides subject matter expertise and consultative guidance based on the latest technology trends and advancements and understanding of business needs. Develops plans based on input from other senior HR Leaders, resource capacity, budget, business priorities and established releases.

  • Provides human centered leadership and support to global team, by fostering trust, collaboration, development and customer focus in a positive work environment. Empowers leaders on the team and holds them accountable to commitments. Sets goals, monitors performance, and provides regular coaching and thoughtful feedback to team members.

  • Manages all HR technology systems and vendor relationships in Oracle HCM Cloud and other Human Capital Management (HCM) applications including, but not limited to, UKG (Kronos), Varicent Incentive Compensation, Service Now HRSD and integrations with third party vendors and platforms. Additionally oversees an Organizational Change Management team consisting of Change, Communications and Training professionals responsible for HR technology related communications and adoption.

  • Leads a team dedicated to the configuration and support of HR technology applications using fluid/agile methodologies to support the optimization of business processes and within an established governance framework. This team maintains cloud configurations as well as RICE objects - reports, integrations, large extracts/imports, extensions, and Fast Formulas.

  • Builds internal and external (vendor) relationships and interfaces regularly with leadership to understand and influence roadmaps and when needed, obtain support for resources (e.g., contractors) and issue resolution.

  • Responsible for the team’s focus and ability to ensure business continuity, continuous evolution, and compliance with enterprise Digital change management and audit. Focuses team to plan and execute on implementations, releases/upgrades, configuration, testing, and deployment of changes and enhancements with a clear expectation for continuous optimization, expansion, and evolution.

  • Drives collaborative and consultative design and establish guiding principles and a governance framework for business processes and technology delivery. Understand the company’s employees and organization to create exceptional employee experiences.

  • Provides input into the interface, reporting/analytics, mobile and case management platform strategies.

  • Coordination with Digital (IT) technical teams responsible for middleware, complex integrations, maintaining system security and controls, environment management, and QE automated regression testing in preparation for system releases.

  • Collaborates with the Finance ERP technical team and Digital team for the governance of the Oracle Cloud and Service Now platforms as well as standards for shared organizational data, environment management and security elements.

  • Manages vendor relationships as well as handle RFIs, RFPs, SOWs and management of these processes within the organization’s procurement framework. Partners with others to build appropriate business case and presentations relevant to technology requests. Participates in contract negotiations, manages service-level agreements and vendor performance.

  • Grow and develop talent; attract and onboard new team members; and provide ongoing feedback and support to further enhance team members’ performance. Fosters team and provides mentorship to others in an environment of continuous development

  • Responsible for building and managing the HR Technology budget including employees, contractors and third-party support as necessary. Makes strategic recommendations and decisions based on existing resources, business calendar, company goals and priorities.

  • Stays informed about HR regulations, compliance requirements, and global data privacy laws. Ensure HR applications adhere to these regulations and implement necessary controls to protect sensitive data in partnership with internal stakeholders.

III. Qualifications

The requirements listed below are representative of the qualifications necessary to perform the job. Must live and work in the US.

A. Education and Experience

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree (accredited) or High School Diploma or GED (accredited) and four years of relevant experience required.

  • Experience: 10+ years experience supporting Technology Service Delivery with increasing responsibility for the support of multiple HR applications and processes including Cloud (in addition to education requirement) and 7 years experience working with various technical teams (e.g., Middleware Applications, Data Warehouse, Database, Server, Network, Security, QA/QE, etc.) required. 7 years of experience leading and developing a team and delivering results at a director level required.

B. Other Knowledge, Skills or Abilities Required

  • In-depth and hands-on experience with Oracle HCM Cloud preferred

  • Experience with UKG (Kronos) Workforce Central preferred

  • Demonstrated ability with identifying gaps cross-functionally between HR processes, HR systems, and implementing process improvements and technology to drive operational excellence and innovation

  • Experience working with confidential information and critical business processes such as payroll required

  • Experience managing SOX controls and global regulatory compliance pertaining to HR technology, data privacy, and processes

  • Normal setting for this job is an office or hybrid setting and could be adjacent to HR Operational services which may include a call center

  • Physical Location of Team Members - Full-time team members will be both office and remote including on-shore and off-shore. Infrequent domestic and international travel may be required.

The expected salary range for this position is $173,250 - $268,900. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s relevant experience, education, training, certifications, qualifications, and work location.
