SUMMARY: Our team is looking for an energetic and organized Reliability Manager who is keen to lead the Axiom Space Safety & Mission Assurance Reliability Team. The Reliability Manager will also function as an integral participant in program design & development processes while being responsible for leading and performing reliability analyses to identify, resolve/mitigate hazards and identify risks in human flight space systems. Performance in this role will encompass all phases of systems development processes including requirements definition, system and spacecraft interfaces, system and spacecraft design, assembly, integration, test, and mission operations. In this role, you will oversee and work with a multi-disciplinary team responsible for flight system safety and reliability while also interfacing with hardware engineers, safety engineers, and other program element representatives to plan, document, and execute effective strategies for eliminating and/or minimizing risk and ensuring operational reliability.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the Reliability team to achieve requirements and program deliverable milestones

  • Provide effective project planning and leadership specific to the Reliability team and for other aspects of the S&MA program where applicable

  • Work in a collaborative engineering team environment and progress a positive safety culture

  • Lead, develop and present flight/ground Reliability Analysis results to achieve project/program approval

  • Responsible for end-to-end system reliability analysis (MTBF, PRA, FMEA, CIL, Reliability Test Criteria) and documentation

  • Develop management systems and processes to maintain and deliver flight readiness certifications, S&MA records, process nonconformance’s and integrate reliability analysis

  • Partner, develop and implement Safety & Mission Assurance program to meet mission, launch and company objectives. Partners and facilitate development of S&MA deliverables with the technical community

  • Lead and conduct Probabilistic Risk Analysis, Safety and Mission Assurance trade studies for hardware and integrated configurations

  • Lead the development and implementation of accurate Reliability data management systems/records

  • Integrate S&MA team member supporting Spacecraft DDT&E, Testing and Verification activity

  • Participate on a team to drive towards successful development, manufacturing, launch and integration of Commercial Space Station, AxEVA Suit Program, and Private Astronaut Crewed Missions

  • Develop S&MA reports/presentations and perform other S&MA tasks as necessary

  • Manage cost account and deliverables to meet program/business objectives, conduct performance management functions to advance the teams skill set to achieve the organization objectives

  • Develops knowledge and expertise to serve as a department Reliability SME, including learning new tasks to gain deeper knowledge and insight.

  • Perform other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education & Experience

  • 9+ years conducting reliability analysis functions (3 years as manager)

  • S. in Engineering, Math or Science required (graduate degree preferred)

  • Required: Experience NASA Safety processes, and spacecraft Hazard Analysis

  • Background in Safety and Mission Assurance of human-rated spaceflight systems

  • Development of spacecraft Criticality Assessments, Failure Modes Effects Analysis, Reliability Block Diagram Models, Probabilistic Risk Assessments, Critical Items Identification /Retention, Mean Time Between Failure and development of Reliability Test Requirements

  • Six Sigma Continual Improvement project facilitator and Certified Reliability Engineer (preferred)

  • Experience leading a team of internal and outsourced talent

  • Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation.
