Mission: The core mission of this position is to maintain the effectiveness of the company Quality Control programs to the highest possible degree of Quality. The QC Technician for the Processing Department oversees all aspects of Quality in in-process products as well as in final products, all material to be inspected at the processing area. Assists supervisors and QC department in Investigating Customers Claims regarding the processing department.  Primary Functions and Responsibilities * Performs 100% Visual Inspection of Welds in the processing area. * Reports Directly to Processing Supervisor about any Quality Deficiencies in Final Parts * Tracks the Quality Deficiencies per Weld * Reports Directly to QC Manager about mistakes or welding problems and Tracks the Daily Information * Ensures Supervisors and Employees understand and adhere the Quality Control Program * Receives Instructions from QC manager about Project Specific Inspection and Test and Perform those tasks * Collaborates with departments and external suppliers regarding Quality concerns. * Monitor shop Activities to ensure conformance with applicable Buildings Codes, Standards, Policies, Procedures and/or Drawings Specifications * Manage and Conduct Audits in the processing department. * Reviews and Assists in product complaint investigations and assists Supervisors with investigations * Perform inspections on projects requiring expertise and knowledge under the direct supervision  of the Quality Control Manager * Maintains Equipment operation and Calibration Key Competencies * Integrity * Energy Driven * Results Oriented * Work Ethic * Resourcefulness * Willing to Learn and Apply Knowledge to the workplace * Conveys information in a clear manner, ensures that others understand instructions or other information that is communicated * Problem Solving and Decision Making abilities are essential for Success. Key Criteria/Requirements * Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent * Must have the ability to multi-task in a manufacturing environment to meet production demands. * Experience with Evaluation related to Quality and Codes issues. * Proficient in the use of Inspection Tools and Measuring Equipment such as Tape Measure, Square, and Micrometer. * Read and Interpret Structural Steel blueprints * Some experience as a Welding Inspector * Certified as a Welding Inspector is a plus but not required * Able to achieve a Non Destructive Testing training as a Level 1 and 2 in Ultrasonic, Magnetic Particles and Visual Inspection of Welds and Steel. * Ability to Work well in a Team oriented environment
