Title:

Project Controls Specialist

KBR Sustainable Technology Solutions (STS) provides holistic & value-added solutions across the entire asset life cycle. These include world-class licensed process technologies, differentiated advisory services, deep technical domain expertise, energy transition solutions, high-end design capabilities, & smart solutions to optimize planned & operating assets.

KBR is looking for a Project Controls Specialist to be accountable for the performance of the project controls discipline. This role will manage the delivery of functional objectives by providing leadership and direction to team members. The Project Controls Specialist will participate in the development of functional strategy and procedures estimating, project risk control, cost control, and scheduling.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the project’s, cost controls, change management, risk management, earned value, and scheduling efforts

  • Perform cost analysis and develop forecast basis

  • Evaluate project health status and maintain effective communication with project leadership

  • Ensure that project controls systems and processes are implemented and continue to deliver accurate project status

  • Evaluate project contracts and commercial terms to ensure that the project controls processes are aligned to address any specific needs

  • Interdisciplinary communications with engineering, construction, and procurement to coordinate project activities and inputs

  • External communications with client, subcontractors, and joint venture partners for coordination on data integration and reporting

  • Review and audit cost, progress and schedule reports that are prepared in regard to project controls

  • Develop and provide project variances, trending and analysis of expenditures, monthly forecasts, and reporting

  • Perform cost forecast analysis

Required Education, Experience, & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, construction management, or related field

  • 7 + years in project controls or related experience

  • Proficient with project health assessments, cost analysis, forecasting, budget development, P6, scheduling techniques and variance reporting techniques

  • Proven ability in managing analytical and data-centric project controls

  • Advanced skills with reporting through Microsoft Power BI

  • Microsoft Office tools with competence in Microsoft Excel required

  • Effective communication skills with internal and external stakeholders including KBR project team, Joint Venture partners, and clients

Preferred Qualifications

Primavera (P6)

Active PMP and/or AACE Certification or the interest/ability to achieve these certifications
