The Campaign Decision Science team is dedicated to building an end-to-end analytics solution to provide business insights, improve decision-making and provide empirical assessment of performance at the institutional, divisional and team levels with respect to constituent engagement and philanthropy.
In advancement of the institution's largest philanthropic campaign in history, MD Anderson Cancer Center is seeking a Principal Philanthropy Reporting Analyst to provide data analysis/management and business operations end-user support services to the division in support of fundraising initiatives and efforts. Responsibilities include, but not limited to, analysis, design, development, and implementation of business reports and dashboards that will monitor performance and quality control within the division and end-user support for the division's integrated business systems.
KEY FUNCTIONS
Reporting, Business Requirements & Analysis (50%)
Requirements gathering, development, documentation and maintenance of division reports, dashboards, and data visualization tools.
Provide ad hoc data requests.
Directs, organizes, and leads BI projects in the implementation and use of new BI software tools and/or systems
Works on highly complex, cross functional, and enterprise business intelligence solutions
Provides subject matter expertise for key BI core functions
Data Analysis (30%)
Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets
End-user support for issues related to reports and fundraising systems.
Development of analytical tools and performance management reports for all fundraising programs and initiatives.
Other duties as assigned.
Communications/Presentations (20%)
Presents and depicts the rationale of their findings in easy to understand terms for the business
Presents back results that contradict common belief, if needed
Communicates and works with business subject matter experts
EDUCATION
Required: Bachelor's degree in a related field.
Preferred: Master's degree in a related field.
EXPERIENCE
Required: Five years experience in business intelligence reporting and analysis.
Preferred: Experience in data analysis and report/dashboard development. Experience with SQL or Oracle PL/SQL, SAP BI (Crystal Reports), Power BI or Tableau (dashboard technologies). Experience working for advancements services or fundraising organization and have a viable understanding of information systems. Ability to communicate with end-users, effectively understanding their needs and communicating appropriate expectations to them. Adaptable to change and able to interact with co-workers and end-users in a positive manner.
