MD Anderson Cancer Center Postdoctoral Fellow - Experimental Therapeutics (Bast Lab) in Houston, Texas

We are seeking a highly motivated and talented Postdoctoral Fellow to conduct hands-on research focused on early detection and biomarker discovery in epithelial ovarian cancer (EOC). The candidate will play a key role in ongoing clinical trials, with an emphasis on identifying and validating biomarkers for early-stage detection. This position involves close interaction with other ovarian cancer early detection network collaborators to translate these findings into potential early detection strategies.

In addition to assay development, the Postdoctoral Fellow will investigate the biological mechanisms that drive cancer progression or dormancy. Responsibilities include performing experiments, analyzing data, and preparing manuscripts, as well as participating in lab meetings, journal clubs, and research seminars.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

The Postdoctoral Fellow will contribute to integrating mechanistic insights with clinical trial data, while also receiving training in study design, advanced data analysis, and manuscript preparation.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

Individuals with a PhD degree in cancer biology, molecular biology, genetics, immunology, or related fields with less than 2 years of postdoctoral experience. Experience with rodent studies is required for this role. Candidate should have strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects. Proven track record of publications, excellent written and oral communication skills are required.

POSITION INFORMATION

MD Anderson offers full-time postdoc positions with a salary ranging from $64,000 to $76,000 (https://trainees.mdanderson.org/apply/mdaPostdoctoralFellowStipendFY24.pdf) . depending on the number of years of postgraduate experience. MD Anderson trainee compensation also includes:
