Join our Program Management Team (PMO) as Manager of Project Management. In this pivotal role, you will lead a team of talented Project and Program Managers, providing guidance and support to foster a culture of professional and personal development, collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Drawing upon your knowledge and expertise, you will oversee the execution of projects and programs, ensuring alignment with organizational goals. As a leader in Program and Project Management, you will provide strategic and operational guidance collaborating closely with senior leadership to define the project management approach and methodology for key initiatives.

Leadership

  • Develop and nurture strong relationships with stakeholders across all levels of the organization, ensuring their needs are completely understood and met

  • Oversee and guide the Project Management team within the department, providing direct supervision and support

  • Foster the professional growth of PMO project management personnel through tailored training, mentorship, and coaching initiatives, thereby enhancing their skills and capabilities

  • Actively participate as a member of the Program Management Office leadership team to realize strategic objectives and contribute to both short and long-term departmental goals

  • Strategically allocate resources across projects to optimize efficiency and achieve project goals on time and within budget

  • Monitor and assess the performance of all PM team members to identify areas for improvement and celebrate successes

  • Ensure adherence to established standards of quality and service by promoting a consistent and standardized approach within the team

  • Offer insights and recommendations for refinement of current project management processes to drive continuous improvement

  • Coordinate the use of, and provide direction to, outside Project Management resources as may be required to manage the project workload

Project Management

  • Maintain awareness of emerging technologies and program management techniques

  • Manage the delivery, coordination, resource planning and quality of project management support for key projects and initiatives across the company

  • Increase knowledge and awareness of project management and change management services and capabilities across the company

  • Work with senior management and business process owners to capture and forecast both project management and change management resource needs

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to:

  • Help build a business case for the project prior to project approval

  • Ensure business requirements are clearly defined and documented

  • Define the scope, goals, objectives, tasks, risks, issues, action items, key performance indicators and resources of the project

  • Manage project schedules in terms of dates and milestones

  • Implement effective mitigation strategies by taking corrective action to achieve project goals

  • Oversee the various work streams of activities in the project, including timeline, quality of work, risks, issue escalations, and collaboration amongst the various stakeholders

  • May be responsible for overseeing multiple projects and or programs of work at the same time

  • Work with all stakeholders to ensure governance is understood and executed effectively both during and after the project or program of work has concluded

  • Develop business insights based on analysis of results and communicates key findings to various members of management to facilitate data-driven decision-making

  • Manage the development of executive-level presentations; deliver information to internal business associates and external clients in a clear and concise fashion

  • Manage the project status reporting according to prescribed timelines for a given project

  • Manage project costs and budget

  • Enhance department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments

  • Assist PMO Director in developing tools and best practices for management and execution

MINIMUM Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred

Certification/License

  • PMP Certification preferred

Experience

  • Eight (8) + years of Project and or Program Management experience

  • Five (5) + years of management experience supervising direct reports

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Financial management and analytical skills

  • Proven experience with financial systems supporting project budgeting and financial tracking

  • Effective time management

  • Exceptional written, verbal and presentation skills

  • Excellent critical thinking and problem solving skills

  • Decisiveness in resolving business problems, decision making and identifying priorities

  • Ability to train and mentor others on effective program and project management techniques and best practices

  • Cognizant of new program and project management techniques and trends to apply to the PMO

  • Knowledge of enterprise level PPM tools in the areas of project and portfolio management, dashboard and report creation, resource optimization, interfaces and data management

  • Thorough working knowledge of the vendor management process with proven ability to lead a project through all related steps

  • Knowledge of Organizational Change Management Skills a plus

  • Ability to travel to delivery centers or field locations as required
