Essential Job Functions

  • Design Gas turbine engine externals (manifolds, fuel, lube oil, and air tubing and hoses) based on the end customer's application.

  • Reverse engineer existing layout and optimize it to meet design and cost criteria.

  • Perform hand calculations to verify structural integrity for Proof, Burst, Fatigue, and Vibration.

  • Coordinate with Structural and Design teams for structural analysis and drawings creation.

  • Create design review pitch and present in design reviews.

  • Develop standard work process based on the design evolution and lessons learned.

Qualifications

  • B.S or M.S in Mechanical Engineering.

  • 5 to 8 years of experience in Gas Turbine engine externals design.

  • Ability to understand operation and functions of the Gas Turbine externals.

  • Ability to navigate component and assembly drawings and identify parts in a bill of material (BOM).

  • Ability to interpret Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).

  • Strong analytical, experimental, statistical aptitude.

  • Ability to do operations with Microsoft office tools like Excel, PowerPoint.

  • Strong attention to detail.

  • Ability to be a cross-functional team leader with good interpersonal skills.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment:

  • Substantial amounts of telephone and computer work.

  • Heavily Regulated Industries with strict adherence to procedures.

  • Flexibility to meet business deadlines by staying late or arriving early.

  • Typical 8 hour days plus lunch / 40 hour weeks / core (required) hours are 9 AM to 4 PM

Location: Houston, TX (or remote within USA)

Travel: Minimal < 5%

Compensation type: Salary Exempt with a competitive package dependent on level of experience
