The mission of The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center is to eliminate cancer in Texas, the nation, and the world through outstanding programs that integrate patient care, research and prevention, and through education for undergraduate and graduate students, trainees, professionals, employees and the public.

The primary purpose of the Manager position is to manage the activity implementation aspect of Continuing Professional Education (CPE). Provide oversight in the coordination, administration, and evaluation of continuing education (CE) activities. Participates in and assists with Joint Accreditation compliance and reaccreditation. Supervise Activity Implementation staff.

  1. K EY F UNCTIONS 1. Activity Implementation · Ensures the successful development, implementation, and evaluation of CE activities that comply with accreditation standards. · Collaborates with subject matter experts, faculty, and stakeholders to develop and implement CE activities for healthcare professionals. · Determines fiscal requirements for events, prepares budgetary recommendations, and negotiates terms with vendors. · Works with designers to create invitations, promotional and other printed materials. · Provides leadership, direction, and coordination among speakers, staff, and volunteers during event program/production. · Ensure clients receive a superior level of hospitality and event planning requirements with timely delivery of responses, cost estimates and event outcomes. · Monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of CE activities including participant evaluations, feedback from faculty and other relevant data.2. Leadership · Leads, supports, and develops a productive team including performance management and development. · Communicates effectively with the Activity Implementation Team, clients, and stakeholders, to achieve quality and effective administration, customer loyalty and positive event outcomes. · Provides availability to work after hours on weekends and evenings as required. · Maintains accurate records and documentation to support accreditation efforts. · Provides training to supervised staff and relevant stakeholders (e.g., Department CE Planners, faculty, etc.). · Supervises the Activity Implementation team to ensure adherence to policies and procedures.3. Joint Accreditation Compliance · Supports Joint accreditation compliance. · Assists with the CE re-accreditation process, including the comprehensive self-study process. · Conducts regular file reviews to ensure Joint Accreditation compliance for each activity, identify and monitor potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk; ensure timely corrective action through intervention and contingency planning.

Education

Required: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Advertising or Communications.

Experience

Required: Five years of progressive association or meetings management experience, to include three years supervisory experience. May substitute required education degree with additional years of equivalent experience on a one to one basis. Successful completion of the LEADing Self Accelerate program may substitute for one year of required supervisory or management experience.

Must pass pre-employment skills test as required and administered by Human Resources.
