METECS IT Help Desk Support Technician - Part-Time in Houston, Texas

METECS is an engineering company, headquartered in Houston, TX, just outside the gates of NASA’s Johnson Space Center.  We are seeking a motivated and skilled part-time IT Help Desk Technician to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Deploy, maintain, and improve internal documentation, integration pipelines, and company IT infrastructure

  • Maintain ticketing systems, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues 

  • Offer end-user support and assist with various IT tasks 

  • Collaborate independently and in small groups without daily oversight 

    Required Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in Information Technology or related technical field experience

  • 1-3 years of experience in an IT support or help desk role

  • Experience with Linux and Windows System Administration

  • Some experience with installation, configuration, and maintenance of operating systems

  • Familiarity with diagnosing and repairing desktop and laptop hardware issues

  • Basic understanding of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPNs

  • Ability to troubleshoot network connectivity issues and configure network settings

  • Hands-on experience in troubleshooting hardware and software issues in a professional environment

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

    Desired Qualifications:

  • Relevant certifications (CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, etc.)

  • ITIL Foundation

  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot technical issues

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently

  • Demonstrated experience in maintaining and optimizing IT infrastructure

  • Ability to work in-office Monday to Friday from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm

    Citizenship or lawful permanent resident required due to federal position.
