Job Summary

Assist the Inventory Control Manager in coordinating all the activities implied for inventory control, planning, and purchasing. Inventory duties include material counts, transactions, and issues for items in MAIN, MTRX and VC warehouses. Planning duties include creating Jobs required to satisfy demand for inventory items, verifying inventory accuracy, knowledge of production processes, part numbers, and Bills of Materials. Directs daily activities of Material Handlers.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Research, report, and reconcile inventory discrepancies, i.e., negative on hand report, NCR’s, etc.

  • Conduct soft material transactions in system and update physical material and/or bin with updated information.

  • Supervise the transaction log for both VC and MAIN warehouses and process transactions.

  • Maintain accurate bin locations, keep bin locations correctly marked, and perform quantity moves.

  • Keep items/sku’s correctly identified with bar code labels.

  • Record in the system (Syteline) all the consumptions of material in Work in Process (WIP) that does not automatically backflush.

  • Mandatory participation on the physical counts and cycle counts.

  • Conduct random bin location audits in the warehouses.

  • Create new Warehouses and add new items as requested.

  • Process removal of slow and obsolete (SLOB) inventory accordingly. 

  • Assigns tasks and duties to Material Handlers to achieve day-to-day department activities.

  • Creates Jobs when driven by Customer Order or Inventory requirements in Syteline. 

  • Maintains BOM’s for production products as needed to ensure created Jobs consumes correct material.

  • Mandatory participation on the daily warehouse cleaning.

  • Perform other tasks as required to meet on time delivery of customer orders, which may include any other warehouse functions not listed above.

  • Assist other departments when needed.

    Skills

  • Must be able to read and comprehend quality and work instructions.

  • Must have strong communication skills, both written and oral.

  • Must have basic computer and analytic skills, as defined by the manger.

  • Must be able to learn and control material types.

  • Must be self-motived.

  • Must have strong problem-solving skills as it relates to application of product and demands of different customers.

  • Must be able to operate forklift.

  • Must be able to work as a team.

    Education

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent

    Work Experience

  • At least one year of experience running inventory or one year of clerical experience.

    Physical Requirements

  • Requires good eye and hand dexterity; must be able to climb, stoop, and bend to pick up or stack off parts and drive a fork truck.

  • Continuous standing and walking.

  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds independently.

  • Working frequently with average weight up to 50 pounds or continuously with lighter weights.

  • Good visual acuity and able to visually distinguish between different shades of color.

  • Ability to work in cold, hot and dusty environment with noisy conditions, occasional work outside in the elements.
