Human Performance Quality Assurance Manager

KBR is seeking a Human Performance Quality Assurance Manager to support our Biomedical and Environmental Research Department for KBR’s Science and Space division.

The Human Performance Quality Assurance Manager will provide quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) support to the human performance labs in the Biomedical and Environmental Research Department (BERD), Human Health and Performance Contract at Johnson Space Center. The major focus of the position will involve the development, implementation and review of quality procedures and data management across the labs. As part of the BERD QA/QC team, the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that the products and data originating from all of the human performance laboratories meet project and program specific requirements and NASA and HHPC QC requirements.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Custodian of quality manuals, procedures, and supporting documentation across the human performance laboratories.

· Assure and maintain the integrity of the portfolio, as defined within a specific laboratory / technical area, Quality Management System (QMS).

· Develop, review, and/or revise QA/QC procedures, work instructions, QMS supporting documentation (technical editing).

· Support project teams in development of deliverables supporting QMS.

· Establish and lead Continuous Improvements (CI) program for Performance Wing.

· Leads portfolio-level audits, analyses results, follow up findings and tracks actions for close-out.

· Maintain menu of opportunities for improvement and determine which improvements to implement to enhance portfolio performance.

· Interface with customers, vendors, and various company departments to resolve quality problems

· Provide activity and status reports to KBR and NASA management.

· Participate in method development, inspections, audits, and validations to ensure process compliance with contract requirements.

· Validates that certification/calibration for operators, instrumentation, and special processes are followed and are current.

· Ensure that equipment is appropriately tracked and tagged in terms of “ready for use”.

· Assist in the implementation of corrective actions and conducts follow-up audits to review the effectiveness of the corrective actions.

· Lead failure investigations and root cause analysis.

· Attend training to maintain technical proficiency and update skills.

· Approach tasks with flexibility and willingness to re-direct efforts in the event of changing priorities.

· Prepare and present technical and safety topics to laboratory personnel periodically.

· Attend laboratory meetings as required.

· Other duties as assigned.

· Responsible for compliance with Safety, Health and Environmental plan; must be committed to a high standard of safety and be willing and able to comply with all safety laws and all of the Company’s safety policies and rules and must be willing to report safety violations and potential safety violations to appropriate supervisory or management personnel

· Responsible for compliance with the Quality Assurance Plan, policies and procedures

· Responsible for completing all assigned training in a timely manner

REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

· Candidates must meet the requirements listed below to be considered for this position; please note required items on your resume.

· Education: A Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical discipline (e.g., engineering, biology, physics, physiology).

· Years of Experience: Must have 2 years of human performance, clinical, and/or engineering QA/QC experience and at least 5 years of analytical experience.

Other Requirements:

o Human Performance/Engineering/Clinical Laboratory experience.

o Excellent data management skills, organization, documentation skills, and ability to think independently.

o Experience with ISO-quality procedures.

o Self-starter and must be able to work independently with minimum supervision.

o Strong analytical skills.

o Experience managing large data sets.

o Excellent technical skills, oral communication, technical writing, and data interpretation skills.

o Ability to work effectively both in small teams and independently and work effectively in a multidisciplinary setting where there are frequently divergent or competing goals for implementation and outcome.

o Utilize excellent interpersonal and organizational skills needed to deliver project goals on time and within budget.

o Proficiency with Microsoft Office with emphasis on advanced Excel and Access skills.

PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

· Experience with ISO 9001/9100 quality systems including annual review and revision of quality documents.

· Experience with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) such as Sample Master or similar systems with experience as a user and super user (configuration of tests, methods and QC). Familiarity with SQL database structure or other relational databases similar to SQL.
