Job Title: General Manager

Location: Central Houston/Hybrid Schedule

Duration: Direct Hire

A leading supplier of high-quality natural stone products from around the world is looking for an experienced General Manager to join the group to oversee all aspects of stone importing business. Targeting folks with specific industry experience, exceptional leadership skills and a proven track record of delivering results.

Leadership and Management:

  • Recruit, train, and develop a high-performing team to achieve company goals and objectives.

  • Set clear performance expectations, conduct regular performance evaluations, and provide coaching and feedback to staff members.

  • Develop and oversee processes and procedures for all staff positions to ensure high levels of customer service and efficient operations

  • Serve as right hand to the President and backfill when President is traveling/out of office

  • Provide strategic direction and leadership to the team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence.

    Business Development:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, contractors, architects, designers, and other industry stakeholders.

  • Develop and implement strategic plans to drive business growth, expand market presence, and increase profitability.

  • Identify new business opportunities, partnerships, and markets to capitalize on emerging trends and customer needs.

    Operations Management:

  • Oversee all aspects of operations, including estimating / pricing, contracts, sourcing, procurement, and logistics.

  • Serve as point of contact for client issues

  • Ensure timely and cost-effective sourcing of high-quality stone products from domestic and international suppliers.

  • Optimize operational processes and workflows to enhance efficiency, productivity, and customer satisfaction.

  • Manage and oversee all internal administrative functions, including IT, legal, insurance, HR, etc.

    Sales and Marketing:

  • Partner closely with President to develop and execute sales and marketing strategies to drive revenue growth and market share.

  • Collaborate with the sales team to identify target customers, develop tailored solutions, and close sales opportunities.

    Financial Management:

  • Support all accounting functions by ensuring proper procedures are followed for client invoicing and collections, as well as vendor billing and payments.

  • Prepare and manage annual budgets, forecasts, and financial reports to track performance and profitability.

  • Identify cost-saving opportunities, negotiate favorable terms with suppliers, and manage pricing strategies to maximize margins.

    Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, or a related field; MBA preferred.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior management role in the stone industry or a related field.

  • Proven track record of successfully managing and growing a business, with a strong understanding of sales, operations, and finance.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams.

  • Strategic thinker with the ability to analyze market trends, identify opportunities, and develop actionable plans.

  • Strong business acumen, with a focus on driving results, managing budgets, and optimizing processes.-

  • Knowledge of stone products, sourcing practices, and industry regulations is highly desirable.

  • Proficiency in MS Office suite and other relevant business software applications.
