We are seeking a talented Ergonomic Advisor at our client site in Houston, TX! This key individual provides consultative services and strategies to assess and address employee health risks related to repetitive stress injuries with business unit management and tie that back to the client’s overall objectives around injury prevention and ergonomics. This position is hybrid and will work a 9/80 work schedule, in the office T/W/TH and work from home M/F with every other Friday off.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Identify, design, deliver, and evaluate programs to reduce health/safety risks related to Repetitive Stress Injury Prevention (RSIP)/ergonomics for both office and industrial global workforce.

  • Create relevant communications making the connecting between personal health and the impact on organizational safety. Leveraging data to create customized messaging to be relatable and actionable.

  • Provided consultative services and strategies to assess and address employee health risks related to repetitive stress injuries with business unit management.

  • Work cross functionally within Global Health and Medical department, HSE, Operational Excellence Champions and Safety Specialists to provide RSIP resources and support.

  • Work with Regional Medical manager on Incident Investigation & Reporting (II&R) for office-based employees.

  • Hold quarterly HSE Client meetings

  • Develop and implement yearly strategic business plan to identify contract deliverables, program/ service offerings and initiatives, and targeted outcomes to align with client culture.

  • Effectively communicate principles of behavior based ergonomic programs to workforce and all levels of management.

  • Other duties as needed/assigned.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science, Athletic Training, Kinesiology or related discipline.

  • Five or more years related industry experience.

  • Have a solid foundation of office and industrial ergonomic principles.

  • Strong leadership, interpersonal and customer service skills including the ability to influence others.

  • Ability to effectively organize and prioritize work demands.

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and procedure manuals, write reports, and business correspondence.

  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of clients, customers, and employees.

  • Ability to work effectively with all levels of leadership both within HealthFitness and the client organization.

  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office programs

  • including at minimum Word, Excel and Outlook.

  • Ability to travel 25-30%, including overnight travel.

  • Certified or certification eligible in ergonomics a plus.

  • Ability to demonstrate strategic thinking around continual process evolution preferred.

  • Use of agile framework preferred.
