Engineer, Systems Planning - 000ELX Description Enterprise Products Partners L.P. is one of the largest publicly traded partnerships and a leading North American provider of midstream energy services to producers and consumers of natural gas, NGLs, crude oil, refined products and petrochemicals. Our services include: natural gas gathering, treating, processing, transportation and storage; NGL transportation, fractionation, storage and import and export terminals; crude oil gathering, transportation, storage and terminals; petrochemical and refined products transportation, storage and terminals; and a marine transportation business that operates primarily on the United States inland and Intracoastal Waterway systems. The partnership’s assets include approximately 50,000 miles of pipelines; 260 million barrels of storage capacity for NGLs, crude oil, refined products and petrochemicals; and 14 billion cubic feet of natural gas storage capacity. The Systems Planning Engineer at Enterprise Products will perform hydraulic analysis for liquid, gas, and supercritical fluid pipelines. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to: + Interact with Operations and Pipeline Control to develop transportation $/Volume curves and facility line-ups for safe and efficient operations, based on design limitations, contract requirements, and energy costs. + Assist Commercial Management in making informed decisions. + Determine pipeline capacity, bottleneck identification, and bottleneck mitigation. + Run "what if" operations scenarios such as equipment outages. + Perform analysis of abnormal operating conditions, such as transient surge studies in compliance of DOT-PHMSA regulations. + Work with Commercial, Capital Projects, Field Engineering and/or Concept Development in analyzing new projects including: New supplies; New deliveries; System expansions; Change of service; And green field projects. + Calculate liquid pipeline control pressures based on elevation, pipe ratings, equipment ratings and Transient Surge study results. Qualifications Successful candidates will possess the following qualifications: + Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Petroleum Engineering is required. + Working knowledge of fluid properties and hydraulic theory. + 3 years of experience in the energy business working with pipeline simulation is required. + Midstream oil and gas experience preferred. + Knowledge of at least one pipeline simulation software is required.
