Distribution Project Manager

POWER is seeking a Project Manager with a distribution focus and the intention to develop our reginal distribution strength. While the primary focus is on distribution, other opportunities within Power Delivery may present themselves and active participation is encouraged in developing them. This role would be to provide assistance with the growth and development of the business unit by:

  • Work to develop new work and clients in the Southcentral

  • Assist in positioning POWER as the leading provider of distribution engineering and design both OH and UG in the region.

  • Act as a Project Manager for distribution specific projects both design and engineering focused.

  • Manage technical and financial aspects of Power Delivery projects

  • Manage and develop client relationships

  • Market POWER's services to existing and new clients in the respective region.

  • Adapt to and promote company culture and manage internal and external relationships

  • Provide internal mentoring and leadership to junior team members as assigned and as a regular order of business

  • Assist in identifying and recruiting key individuals to strengthen the technical and management teams in the region.

  • Assist with office expansion and/or development of new offices as needed.

  • Ensure that all PM responsibilities are addressed, including developing & maintaining schedules, leading internal and external project status meetings, budgeting and scheduling maintenance, preparing proposals, and taking a significant role in client relationships

  • This position will likely require travel for both regional and national clients

Required Education/Experience

  • Bachelor of Science degree in electrical, civil, or mechanical engineering or technical management

  • PE or PMI certification/registration is desired

  • Fifteen (15) + years’ progressive experience managing overhead and/or underground line, substation and/or electrical studies projects at distribution voltages

  • Must be familiar with power delivery design processes and have experience designing and managing power delivery projects

  • Must have successful track record of leading project teams

  • Must have successful track record of interfacing with clients

  • Familiarity with CPM scheduling and project estimating and scheduling techniques and software

  • Must have a good understanding of project management techniques and approaches, to applying project controls during project execution.

Desired Education/Experience

  • Familiarity with regional utilities in the respective region
