Robert Half Cloud Security Engineer in Houston, Texas

Description We are offering a contract to permanent employment opportunity for a Cloud Security Engineer role in a telecom provider based in Houston, Texas. This role is primarily focused on designing a scalable, automated, and available cloud platform for large scale, mission critical applications. You will be responsible for establishing and maintaining security configurations, hunting for potential security vulnerabilities, and optimizing the security posture within the Microsoft Azure environment.

Responsibilities:

• Design a highly scalable, automated, and available cloud platform, utilizing IaaS and PaaS, for large scale, mission critical applications, predominantly hosted on Microsoft Azure Cloud.

• Establish and maintain architecture standards and repository.

• Develop and implement DevOps, support, maintenance, and governance practices and processes for the Cloud Platform.

• Solutions implementation across all aspects of Cloud service models and application delivery such as IaaS, PaaS, Serverless, and Containerization infrastructure.

• Design, implement, and manage security configurations for our Azure environment, ensuring adherence to industry best practices and compliance standards.

• Utilize expertise in Azure Security services like Azure Security Center, Azure Defender for Cloud, and Azure Entra to fortify our defenses.

• Establish security architecture for the entire cloud platform such as Entra Administration and Operations, Azure Subscription level security model and operations.

• Establish Azure policies to ensure that desired certification levels are achieved.

• Proactively hunt for potential security vulnerabilities within our Azure environment using security tools and threat intelligence.

• Investigate and respond to security incidents efficiently, minimizing damage and ensuring swift resolution.

• Continuously monitor and evaluate our Azure security posture, identifying areas for improvement and recommending security enhancements.

• Participate in security assessments and penetration testing to identify and address potential weaknesses.

• Collaborate with the security team to analyze incidents, identify root causes, and implement preventative measures. Requirements • Proficiency in Border Gateway Protocol (BGP)

• Experience with Checkpoint technologies

• Familiarity with Cisco ASA and other Cisco Technologies

• Knowledge of EO/IR systems

• Ability to conduct AB Testing

• Competence in Checkpoint Firewall

• Experience in Configuration Management

• Proven track record in managing Deployments

• Strong Design skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Azure

• Understanding of cloud security principles and best practices

• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Relevant industry certifications would be an advantage
