Gyrodata Business Systems Analyst in Houston, Texas
Job Function / Purpose:
Manage all activities related to conducting preliminary cost/benefit analysis, needs assessments, and business requirements aligning business needs with solutions on software, IT infrastructure and business initiatives.
Conducts detailed enterprise analysis to support requests that require pricing/quote for vendors or internal development.
Ensures process analysis and mapping for non-technical improvement projects.
Develop processes to ensure proper analysis is completed for both IT and business systems as requested and applicable
Leads detailed business requirement elicitation and documentation for software, IT and business enhancement project requests to ensure successful execution of projects
Coordinates with the business, and internal technology teams to drive and document the completion of requirements and business cases to communicate short and long-term solution needs, success metrics, objectives, cost and development estimates and build or buy decisions.
Works with North America and International Operations to understand unique business needs and requirements.
Ensures projects meet the needs of the users and that quality and resource commitments are met.
Serves as liaison between the business community and execution or technical team members to ensure that its needs are fully understood by the project team.
Fosters and coordinates communication across multiple work streams, business functions and projects
Drives process improvement projects or re-engineering by documenting and analyzing business processes and works with business teams to identify gaps and remediation plans.
To ensure all persons performing operations in IT zones meet Gyrodata's HSE requests
Comply with applicable safety standards and maintain a safe working environment
Comply with applicable quality assurance standards
Works with SQMS, GDMS and other Quality systems
Undergraduate Degree required in a Business or Technology discipline
5-10 years? experience as a BA/BSA/PM or equivalent.
Ability to understand, create and manage the basic tools (i.e. process maps / flows, rules matrices, mockups etc.) and advanced tools and techniques of business analysis (i.e. data matrices, contextual level data diagrams, system interface diagrams etc.).
Ability to evaluate details and develop a full understanding of business requirements, impacts and potential issues across various processes, departments, products and lines of business.
Document detailed business requirements and supporting documentation into standardized tools and templates Includes: Stakeholder analysis, Business rules analysis, Data analysis, Decision analysis, and Costs benefit analysis.
Manages the expectations of business owners, subject matter experts and key stakeholders.
Comfortable in interacting with senior leadership not only internal to Business but across the organization.
Understands and adheres to the established documentation quality standards.
Review and develop analysis of the Business inclusive of process improvement.
Ability to prioritize workload based on business needs for self and others.
Introductory Knowledge of technology structures: networks, data base, communications, internet and effectively communicate with technical and non-technical groups, both internal and external.
Analytical skills for problem solving and ability to think creatively for solutions/ideas.
Detail oriented and committed to a high level of accuracy.
Strong listening skills and excellent written and verbal communication skills enabling efficient communication and collaboration with all stakeholders.
Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office tools Word, Excel
Knowledge of the BABOK® Guide.
Waterfall and Agile project experience translating customer needs into business requirements preferred.
Experience with PC based tools and products including but not limited to MSOffice and MS Visio.
Strong Analytical, problem-solving and basic project management skills.
Experience working in the oil & gas industry or industrial sector.
