Summary: Craig Technologies has an opening for an Attitude Determination and Control Officer (ADCO) at Johnson Space Center, TX, and serve as a technical expert for the International Space Station (ISS) Motion Control Systems.

Detailed Description:

ADCO Flight Controllers are responsible working in a partnership with Russian controllers to determine and manage the station's orientation that is controlled by the on board motion control systems. This position also plans and calculates future orientations and maneuvers for the station and is responsible for docking the ISS with other vehicles. ADCO Flight Controllers work in the Mission Control Center (MCC) at Johnson Space Center (JSC) in Houston Texas. These individuals are also responsible for training astronauts, cosmonauts, and flight controller peers on those systems. Future certifications may include Orion and Boeing Starline Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC) flight control positions. Personnel will be expected to complete NASA led flight controller and instructor certifications for this area of expertise.

Position Requirements:

Bachelor of Science Degree or anticipate graduation within the next 6 months in Aerospace, Physics, Mathematics or Engineering (ABET). Previous experience in real-time spacecraft trajectory operations and analysis, orbital mechanics, rendezvous trajectory analysis and operations, and/or spacecraft GN&C is highly desired. This is an entry-level position. Preferred position related experience is 0-2 years. This position requires successful completion of a government background check before commencement of employment.

Knowledge of engineering principles and the ability to apply them to real-time operations is essential. Previous experience with or course work in basic engineering, orbital mechanics, and spacecraft flight dynamics is desired. Excellent communication (verbal and written), interpersonal, leadership, teamwork, technical, and administrative skills are mandatory. Candidate must have a demonstrated ability to plan, lead, and coordinate a wide range of tasks. Candidate must demonstrate the ability to progress through flight controller certifications.

Candidate is required to pass a standard flight controller physical examination and pass security clearances. Shift work (nights, weekends, and holidays) is required. Candidate must be able to support infrequent travel domestically or internationally. Russian language skills are a plus.
