Description

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Set-up and operate machines including adjustment and/or replacement of tooling, guides, jigs and fixtures.

  • Operate a paint machine.

  • Support the safety and quality programs by following all accompanying rules and established processes.

  • Painting Ramps and weldments.

  • Cleaning and preparing surfaces prior to laying paint.

  • Maintaining technical equipment for the job and ensuring that they are in working order.

  • Possessing a wide array of painting tools, including thin and thick brushes, and rollers.

  • Safely disposing of chemical waste.

  • Ensuring that high safety standards are met.

  • Utilizing different painting techniques based on the nature of the surface.

  • Utilizing special safety equipment such as painting goggles and respirators

  • Using viscosity cups and thickness gauges to measure the amount of paint to be used and the texture of the paint.

  • Removing previous paint surfaces using masking or a chemical rinse.

  • Painting small items and doing touch-ups.

  • Other duties as assigned.

    Shifts

  • second: Monday - Friday 2:30pm-10:30pm

    Skills/Qualifications

  • Ability to operate forklift and cranes.

  • Ability to read and interpret simple blueprints.

  • Ability to use a variety of hand tools such as hammer, pliers, screwdriver, wrench, drill, grinder and bander.

  • Ability to use measuring tools such as tape measure, box caliper, slide dial caliper and micrometer.

  • Ability to convert fractions to decimals and vice versa.

  • Ability to convert metric to English.

  • Provide high quality work to all internal and external customers as related to the output of their position.

  • Capable of setting up and operating one or more processing machines.

  • Speak, write and comprehend conversational English.

  • Strong attention to detail.

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (preferred).
