Maintenance Technician Horseheads, NY Experience operating equipment and tools of the trad including but not limited to hand tools, power tools, and riding equipment. Valid driver's license with a good driving record. Must be able to move about properties often including ascending/descending of stairs and ladders. Must be able to walk for long periods of time as well as position oneself to inspect items or areas low to the ground or overhead. Responsibilities: Members of our maintenance team are responsible for maintaining and improving the appearance of our properties, completing service calls, including preventative maintenance, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and other property and grounds maintenance assignments.
The ideal candidate enjoys being a member of a team, assisting others, completing projects in a timely and efficient manner, is thorough in completing tasks, good organizational skills, enjoys something different each day, proud of their quality of work and has a true passion for customer services. Occasionally performs commercial maintenance tasks as business needs areas. Perform exterior maintenance and landscaping tasks including lawncare, pruning shrubs and trees, weeding, insect control and removal of clippings. Craftsman quality skill level in general maintenance, carpentry, painting, electric repair, HVAC repair & plumbing repair and/or willingness to learn.
Completes maintenance tasks in a timely manner; reports start, progress and completion of each task. Makes recommendations to improve the appearance, efficiency and effectiveness at the properties to help achieve company and community goals. Follow all safety guidelines for the operation of tools and equipment s well as ensuring compliance with building, safety and health codes. On-call and able to respond to after hour emergency calls and weather conditions at all properties. Able to work outdoors throughout all seasons and weather conditions including addressing snow and ice removal on sidewalks, parking areas and roads with the use of shovels, snow blowers, plows and other equipment. Maintain positive relations with tenants, customers, staff, and the corporate office. Support our continued growth by performing other related duties as assigned and contributing to the overall mission of the company.
