Jennie Stuart Medical Center, Inc. Revenue Cycle Specialist-Full Time in Hopkinsville, Kentucky

The Revenue Cycle Specialist is responsible for overseeing and performing financial tasks. The specialist will research, resolve, and monitor issues within Revenue Cycle. This position works under the supervision of the Director of Patient Financial Services and Managed Care.

Monitors all facets of billing and accounts receivable management including charge entry, payment posting, customer service and follow-up in accordance with practice protocol with an emphasis on maximizing patient satisfaction and profitability.

Monitors and handles refund requests and accounts in credit balance.

Remains informed of all government regulations and procedure affecting the revenue cycle.

Communicates trends to the Director of Patient Financial Services and Managed Care.

Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Required Skills

Demonstrate excellent analytical skills and the ability to extract information to draw conclusions.

Ability to make administrative and procedural decisions and judgements.

Ability to process computer data and to format and generate reports.

Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.

Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.

Knowledge of payer policies, regulations, and bylaws and the legal environment within which they operate.

Required Experience

A qualified candidate should have three to five years of relevant experience.
