Description

This is a challenging, multi-faceted opportunity in the Hood River, Oregon area, at a company where effort is rewarded. You will succeed in this position if you have the ability to prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation and be responsible for many aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close. To succeed in this role, you will need to be comfortable participating in compliance, interacting with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and reviewing schedules reporting processes. We're looking for people who have a complex understanding of Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets.

What you get to do every single day

  • Ad hoc reporting and performing special projects upon request

  • In-depth experience with reconciling month end balance sheet accounts

  • Produce journal entries and perform the month end close under minimal supervision

  • Coordinate and analyze a variety of financial data, then report it in a way that is useful and understandable

  • Manage schedules for monthly payments and capital lease

  • Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations which include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll

  • Maintain, implement, and adhere to internal controls. Also ensure that accounting procedures comply with GAAP

  • Regularly maintain and reconcile journal entries

  • Maintain fixed asset ledgers, depreciation, and reconciliation

  • Compose analyses for income statements and monthly balance sheets for management reporting

  • Participate in various department-wide initiatives

  • Assist in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation

  • Manage intercompany billings, transactions, and reconciliation

Requirements

  • 5+ yrs. experience in a similar role, ideally in a manufacturing environment

  • Degree in Accounting or related field of study

  • Experience with GL reconciliations and journal entries

  • Self-managed and able to work productively with high accuracy

  • Stellar planning and organizational skills to prioritize workload to meet deadlines

  • Self-confidence and initiative for interacting with all levels of staff, outside auditors, and various regulatory parties

  • Extensive background with payables and receivables

  • Ability to understand and maintain a high level of confidentiality.

  • Understanding and adherence of internal controls to maintain financial security

  • Must be highly skilled in the operation of various software and web programs; particularly the MS Office Suite and accounting software; NetSuite or SAP Business One
