Description

Robert Half is seeking candidates for a full-time Staff Accountant position, which will become a critical part of an innovative Advertising company. To be successful, challenges and multiple moving components should excite candidates. If you can prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation, you might be right for this Staff Accountant position. This role is for someone who wants to perform internal reporting during the monthly close, participate in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules reporting processes. Responsibilities

  • Compose thorough journal entries and account reconciliations which include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll

  • In-depth experience with reconciling month end balance sheet accounts

  • Prepare monthly financial close workbooks to support the month end, quarter end and year end closing process

  • Periodically maintain and reconcile journal entries

  • Manage intercompany billings, transactions, and reconciliation

  • Special projects and impromptu reporting, upon request

  • Oversee depreciation, fixed asset ledgers, and reconciliation

  • Organize and review various financial data, then report it in a manner that is useful and understandable

  • Implement, maintain, and adhere to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP

  • Perform month end close, journal entries, with minimum supervision

  • Arrange schedules for capital lease and monthly payments

  • Compose analyses for income statements and monthly balance sheets for management reporting

  • Partake in a variety of department-wide initiatives

    Requirements - Spreadsheet and database capabilities

  • Ability and willingness to meet business critical deadlines

  • Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment

  • Great attention to detail

  • Accounts Receivable (AR) experience

  • Accounts Payable (AP) experience preferred

  • Solid understanding of QuickBooks

  • Billing experience

  • Command of Microsoft Excel

  • 2+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience

  • Current and relevant ERP system experience

  • Proficient with spreadsheets and databases

  • BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics

  • Self-starter and strong ethical standards

  • Proven analytical skills - defining problems, collecting relevant data, drawing valid conclusions, and recommending improvement/corrective actions

  • Outstanding organizational, written and verbal communication skills required
