FTI is hiring a Sr. System Administrator to support one of our United States Navy customers. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with advanced technology, setting up and installing system hardware and applications, and providing ongoing support and administration of the systems. Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems, network servers, and virtualization.

  • Install and upgrade computer components and software, manage virtual servers, and integrate automation processes (i.e., Windows servers/workstation, RHEL severs/workstations, etc.)

  • Troubleshoot hardware and software errors by running diagnostics, documenting problems and resolutions, prioritizing problems, and assessing impact of issues

  • Provide documentation and technical specifications to IT staff for planning and implementing new/upgrades to the IT infrastructure

  • Perform regular backup operations and implement appropriate processes for data protection, disaster recovery, and failover procedures

  • Provide security hardened templates of each operating system in use (i.e. Windows servers/workstation, RHEL severs/workstations, etc.)

  • Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as required to include build guides/directives to ensure reliable/repeatable system builds.

  • Provide analysis to optimize and tune overall system performance.

  • Assist to the extent possible with PKI installation/configuration.

  • Assist site ISSO personnel with the configuration of the LogRhythm SIEM tool to ensure all audit data is being captured and proper alerts are setup for notifications of security relevant events.

  • Assist with the review and hardening of the database systems.

  • Up to 50% CONUS / OCONUS travel may be required.

  • Trip duration is typically 4 weeks.

Education/Qualifications

Required:

  • Active U.S. Dept. of Defense TS/SCI clearance.

  • 6+ years of relevant Information Assurance/Cyber Security experience

  • Must meet the minimum U.S. Dept. of Defense 8140 requirements for specialty code 451: System Administrator

  • Security +, Cloud+, or Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP)OR

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Information Systems, or Computer Science from an ABET accredited or CAE designated institutionANDpossess at least one Operating System/Computing Environment (OS/CE) certificate of training, as dictated by Command CWF-PM which includes but is not limited to:

  • OS Certs - Windows:

  • Windows Server and Hybrid Administrator

  • Windows Modern Desktop Administrator

  • Azure Administrator Associate

    Linux Certifications:

  • LPIC-1

  • RedHat Certified System Administrator

  • Oracle Certified Professional Linux System Administrator

    Networking Certifications:

  • Certified Cisco Network Administrator

  • Juniper Networks Certified Enterprise Routing and Switching

    DBA Certifications:

  • Certified Azure Database Administrator

  • Oracle Database Administrator

  • IBM Certified Database Administrator

  • Ability to lift equipment up to 50 lbs.

  • Must have experience/knowledge of the following:

  • Microsoft Windows and Server

  • RHEL Linux

  • VMWare

  • Enterprise Storage solutions – NAS/SAN

  • Networking concepts

  • A solid understanding of Virtualization Concepts

  • Working knowledge of DISA STIGS

  • Ability to read/write bash scripts

    Preferred:
