Description

We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Senior Accountant in the transport industry, located in Honolulu, Hawaii. The role involves ensuring the integrity of accounting information, preparing financial reports, and managing accounting assistants. This role is ideal for candidates with a knack for compiling, analyzing, and reconciling account information. Responsibilities:

• Ensure the integrity of accounting data by recording, verifying, consolidating, and entering transactions

• Prepare and record asset, liability, revenue, and expenses entries by compiling and analyzing account information

• Maintain and balance subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, and reconciling transactions; resolve discrepancies

• Maintain and reconcile fixed assets schedules

• Summarize financial status by collecting information; prepare balance sheet, profit and loss, and other statements

• Prepare monthly management and financial reports

• Assess internal controls, including risk assessments and reviews of risk areas

• Monitor and support taxation requirements

• Manage and support accounting assistants

• Support accounting policies and prepare corresponding documentation

• Assist with external and internal audit requests by providing information to auditors

• Perform special duties and other projects as assigned.

Requirements • A minimum of a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.

• Proven experience as a senior accountant in the transport industry.

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications.

• Solid knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, laws and regulations.

• Excellent analytical skills to manage large amounts of data.

• Demonstrated ability to handle month-end close procedures.

• Proficiency in Oracle and SAP platform.

• Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process.

• Strong skills in account reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, and bank reconciliations.

• Ability to prepare and post journal entries.

• Attention to detail and accuracy.

• Ability to direct and supervise.

• CPA or relevant certification is a plus.

• Excellent communication and organizational skills.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• High level of integrity and trustworthiness.

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

• Willingness to stay updated with industry developments and changes in regulations.
