  • Position Summary*

Responsible to the Senior Manager, Base Maintenance, the Shift Manager, Base Maintenance will maintain aircraft work schedules and programs associated with HA base operations, aircraft overhaul, and interior shop. Manage the Base Maintenance aircraft 24 hour work schedules, correcting any deviations to ensure a timely return to service. Promotes a safety conscious workforce to ensure the wellbeing of our employees. Collaborates with other departments to continuously improve our performance.

  • Key Responsibilities*

Responsible for the oversight of maintenance functions and workforce to include but not limited to:

  • Organize and redirect resources to ensure aircraft availability for line operations and production timeline for aircraft in heavy check.

  • Responsible for all safety related programs as applicable to assigned personnel, equipment, vehicles, tooling, and processes.

  • Ensures that assigned work area meets all safety and environmental requirements, monitors, directs, and coordinates with Line Maintenance and Shops Senior Managers for oversight of the housekeeping program.

  • Supervise maintenance personnel ensuring all work is performed in accordance with FAA & HA specifications. Responsible for coaching and guidance of Supervisors and Lead Mechanics.

  • Ensure compliance with forecasted budgets by maintaining oversight of maintenance visit labor, materials, and managing overtime.

  • Ensure accomplishment of the daily workload and high priority tasks for aircraft overhaul and shops.

  • Provide interface between Base Maintenance and Maintenance Support Shops to ensure all of the planned objectives are met daily

  • Enforce work rules holding personnel accountable to the policies and procedures of the company.

  • Create processes as necessary to ensure safe, consistent, and optimized work habits for night work. Ensure personnel are properly trained, qualified and authorized for their assigned duties and familiar with applicable manuals.

  • Coordinates, or provides oversight of coordination, for return to service of aircraft with Flight Division.

  • Responsible for preparation and delivery of the morning briefs for accomplished maintenance activities.

  • Responsible for required administrative duties, to include: ensure tracking of Ultipro and oversight of vacation/work schedules is accomplished; and, oversight of training requirements to ensure work is performed by qualified mechanics.

  • Work collaboratively with peers and M&E leadership; communicate resource requirements & challenges; and elevate critical information to department leadership.

  • ** Other duties as assigned.

  • Minimum Requirements*

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • 3 years of management or leadership experience

  • Understanding of Base Maintenance processes

  • Airframe and Powerplant license

  • Experience in overseeing budgets and vendor management

  • Must have good oral and written communication skills

  • Must have a valid state driver’s license and be able to get a ramp license

  • ** Must be able to travel and work flexible shifts

  • B717, B787, A321, and A330 experience preferred.

  • Experience in FAR part 121 and/or 135 operation.

  • Previous IAM management experience.
