Queen's Health System Patient Navigator Associate - WHC Mammography (Full-Time, 40, Day) in Honolulu, Hawaii

RESPONSIBILITIES

I. JOB SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Supports the coordination of patient care and internal external/resources to ensure that care is provided in a supportive, seamless, and superior customer approach at all times.

• Performs duties and responsibilities in accordance with policies and procedures and consistent with the goals and objective of the department and The Queen’s Medical Center (QMC).

II. TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Essential: stooping/bending, finger dexterity, seeing, hearing, speaking; lifting usual weight of 10 pounds up to 25 pounds.

• Frequent: standing, walking, reaching at and below shoulder level.

• Occasional: sitting, kneeling, climbing stairs, walking on uneven ground, squatting, pushing/pulling usual weight of 10 pounds up to 25 pounds; carrying usual weight of 5 pounds; reaching above shoulder level.

• Operates computer, typewriter, calculator, copier, facsimile, and telephone.

III. TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:

• Not substantially subjected to adverse environmental conditions.

• Assignment to Neuroscience Institute: May be required to work at The Queen’s Medical Center – West Oahu.

IV. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

A. EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE:

• Associate’s degree in a health related field; or two (2) years work experience in healthcare may be substituted for the educational requirement.

• Medical Assistant certification highly desirable.

B. EXPERIENCE:

• In addition to the educational requirement, two (2) years experience in health care demonstrating understanding of hospital processes, preferably in a case management assistant type role in a comparable facility.

• Prior experience in health care billing and insurance preferred.

• Prior experience working with the underserved population preferred.
