Description

Entry Level Accountant responsibilities include auditing financial documents and procedures, reconciling bank statements and calculating tax payments and returns. To be successful in this role, you should have previous experience with bookkeeping and a flair for spotting numerical mistakes. Ultimately, you will provide us with accurate quantitative information on financial position, liquidity and cash flows of our business, while ensuring we’re compliant with all tax regulations. Responsibilities

  • Manage all accounting transactions

  • Prepare budget forecasts

  • Publish financial statements in time

  • Handle monthly, quarterly and annual closings

  • Reconcile accounts payable and receivable

  • Ensure timely bank payments

  • Compute taxes and prepare tax returns

  • Manage balance sheets and profit/loss statements

  • Report on the company’s financial health and liquidity

  • Audit financial transactions and documents

  • Reinforce financial data confidentiality and conduct database backups when necessary

  • Comply with financial policies and regulations

Requirements

  • Post-secondary degree in Accounting / Finance or related field.

  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel and Outlook) and 10-key; ability to adapt to various software programs.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Detail oriented with excellent organizational and administrative skills.

  • Strong communication skills; must be articulate and able to produce well written correspondence.

  • Self-motivated with positive mindset and solutions-based approach.

  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with team members.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, while managing multiple projects under strict time constraints.

  • Reliable attendance is required.

  • 2-years’ accounting experience.

  • Familiarity with commercial property accounting software such as Sage 300 Construction and Real Estate (Timberline), Yardi, and MRI.

  • You take pride and ownership of your role and workflow, successfully meeting monthly reporting deadlines without compromising accuracy.

  • You provide financial advice to your property and general managers within your portfolio.

  • You build positive working relationships with your team members, sharing your expertise and collaborating as a group.

  • You successfully coordinate the integration of new properties into the accounting workflow.
