Job Description

Hawai'i Pacific Health is a not-for-profit health care network with over 70 locations statewide including medical centers, clinics, physicians and other caregivers serving Hawai'i and the Pacific Region with high quality, compassionate care. Its four medical centers - Kapi'olani, Pali Momi, Straub and Wilcox - specialize in innovative programs in women’s health, pediatric care, cardiovascular services, cancer care, bone and joint services and more. Hawai'i Pacific Health is recognized nationally for its excellence in patient care and the use of electronic health records to improve quality and patient safety.

The Financial Planning department provides quality financial services to the organization’s systems, directors and internal staff by acting as a liaison and business partner. Department staff offer in-depth financial analysis and review of the organization’s operations to understanding past financial performance and its impact on the future; develop new and effective programs; and to ensure the financial viability of the entire organization over time.

The Director provides leadership and oversight of the Hawai‘i Pacific Health Medical Group (HPH Medical Group) operations and responsible for the financial management of employed physician operations, including physician compensation, revenue cycle performance, education, and research activities. This person will work with the HPH CFO, as well as the HPH Medical Group CEO and COO, to develop annual budgets and forecasts and financial strategies consistent with the mission and vision of the organization, including monitoring medical cost trend performance and specific initiatives to address performance gaps and identifies financial/operational challenges and performance improvement opportunities, as well as implementation of agreed upon solutions.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Valid driver's license, abstract, and current Hawai‘i auto insurance. Eight (8) years experience in Finance/Accounting, or related field within a healthcare setting, including at least five (5) years of management experience. Experience with financial reporting and budgeting, building financial dashboards and financial modeling skills. Direct experience providing financial analysis support to clinical operations leadership.

Preferred Qualifications: Master's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field and Certified Public Accountant (CPA). Management and financial analyst experience in healthcare provider or insurer organization with significant risk-based contracting arrangements. Experience providing financial analysis support to physician leadership.
